I am genuinely not interested. This show seems too crowded for my liking. BBC is trying way too hard and i´m not buying it.
Ihad the EXACT same thought when i read the post about the Skoda Kodiaq here last week. Even googled to see the difference between a Sasquatch, Yeti and Bigfoot.
I know I know. But it is also a race track. Isnt what everybody tries to separate? Race tracks and public freeways?
I may be uninformed on the matter, but it seems really unsafe and stupid to have a panel van doing a track day amidst other cars. It has half the power, double the weight and weak stopping power, not to mention inertia, body roll, skinny tires and etc.
My mother used to own a 2005 Toyota Fielder. She wrecked it and sold to a friend of mine with around 35.000 km on it (if you see our roads, you´ll see this mileage is not that small) and the car just kept on going.

I really hate the look of a Top Case, that why my F800GS has a Givi 20L tank bag. Inside it has waterproof jacket/pants, tons of business cards (you know, for when you have an accident and need to exchange info quickly), a 12v charger, iphone cable, flashlight, brake rotor lock, a Gerber multi-tool knife, bike…
Formula Offroad have never been so close.
It makes me sad that WRC is the place for heavy anabolized 1.6 liter econoboxes. Good were the days where a rally car was based on something actually worth buying.
Fake brake system on the outside of the wheels just screams “movie prop” to me. No thanks.
It should be. Some things have to have a standardized concept. Wagons, sedans, hatchbacks, SUV/ CUV, coupes and pickups, sometimes do not.
HAHAHA
that is a great looking Isuzu. Are the engines on these Irmscher R stock?
I love how cyclists are so “oh, cycling is exercise! there is no motor, its the power of your legs!” and then this happens. hypocrite cyclists are hypocrites
I have never driven a rotary-powered car, but Mazda is unveiling their SKYACTIV-R engine, which in theory should correct those design and engineering flaws you mentioned.
Just came here to laugh at BBC for trying too hard at this.
I know this is a garage queen and it had a very limited run and all, but this is a FUTURE classic, not an ACTUAL classic. Not worth thaat much money today or in 5-10 yrs time
Im currently at work and have no time to watch the full doc, but would the pilots have survived a crash like this? with the entire front portion breaking off like this.
TL;DR - Doug, you shoudnt make a apology post for the car fans you pissed off during a video/post/whatever you did. The ones who got pissed are not you, and vice-versa. If you think the Defender is sluggish, unrealiable, expensive and uncomfortable, so be it. I do not agree with you on the reliability issue, but…
