I still cant get my head around on WHY THE HELL they put the timing chain on the back of the engine. It makes absolutely no sense, does it?

I’ve never driven a Malibu because it doesnt sell well here (We prefer the Fusion i guess), but i always thought it was a pretty interesting car to look at.

Thanks for the explanation man! One more question though: When you do the service, do you usually replace these plastic chain guides + tensioners and cam adjusters with other OEM parts? Or are there any stronger, sturdier parts that owners usually opt for?

I know it a fucking pain in the ass to do the service because (if im not mistaken) you have to take the whole engine out because the timing chain is on the inside, right?
