How can you be a fan of the NBA where 3/4 of the league is black and be against those players standing up for what they see is the persecution of that race? I am sure it is possible, but seriously who cares if those people stop watching.

More than any other the NBA is a star-driven league, and with the small rosters, the stars are irreplaceable. I hope some of them get together and tell Silver to get fucked.

I’m 100% with the librarian on her critique of the education system and of De Vos in particular, but arguing that Dr. Seuss created racist cartoons, while correct, is lacking context.

I agree. Ms. Soeiro was kicking ass but kinda pushed it too far with Dr. Seuss. Perhaps a better strategy would have been to take the books and say that she would pass them along to a school, library, or non-profit that was more in need of materials. Kind of in the spirit of what her main point was.

You didn’t read her entire letter. Her points are valid, especially that her school doesn’t need them and if the WH wants to do something substantial for children’s education, they should send books to schools that need it.
