They took it away from THEMSELVES.
Uh, I am in NY, near PA, and I’ve been to the Gettysburg museum (about a 4 hr trip) and people here in the sticks fly Confederate flags. They were an invading fucking army! We had a ton of abolitionists! This isn’t your fucking history, it’s a meth addled dream you had after watching too much Duck Dynasty!
It totally is. Every single plantation still standing should either be torn down or turned into memorials like Auschwitz that exist to remind people of the horrors that were committed (and I’m Jewish).
To be fair, Sherman did what he could.
Honestly, I kind of agree. WW1 proved that when you don’t utterly grind the enemy into the ground they think they “didn’t really lose” and will be able to “rise again.” The Confederacy was never pulled apart the way it should have been, and now it’s some twisted point of pride.
Oh, better than that; most soldiers died for the right of their *aristocracy* to hold slaves. Slave-holders paid their way out of it, the fuckers. They were rich enough to do so becuase- oh right- of slave labor.
More GM synergy: The Detroit Red Wings issued a statement about their logo and they mentioned Charlottesville.
Gizmodo’s got links to the car footage.
The Confederate soldiers that fought during the war–they’re US military.
When I see their smirking faces marching I think “Children of the Don”.
They were chanting “Blood and Soil” too. They are nazis, full stop.
Have you tried a more routine sleep pattern?
“The Confederate soldiers that fought during the war–they’re US military.”
D’you think the guy in the light blue polo and khakis standing next to the guy in a helmet, vest, and gloves feels out of place, or do you think the guy in phony tactical gear just feels silly? Also, why does he have a pen in his vest? Does he have to sign for a lot of stuff when he’s riding in his outlaw biker gang?
“far-right extremist groups— from immigration foes to anti-Semitic bigots, neo-Confederates, Proud Boys, Patriot and militia types, outlaw bikers, swastika-wearing neo-Nazis, white nationalists and Ku Klux Klan members—all of whom seem emboldened by the Trump presidency.”
These people only preach hate. If they communicated without the hate then they’d not be protesting in the first place.
You know what? You’re right and you better articulated the point I wanted to make, so thank you
