i take it you’ve got an hd tv and a surround receiver with no hdmi inputs? you might want to check to see if your tv has a digital audio out (toslink or coax), and connect that to your receiver. then just configure your devices to output audio via hdmi, and then the tv will send the audio signal to your receiver.
