Enh, I think its a mix of both making a joke out of it AND making sure that she’s available for Disney-bound MCU properties.

I was right there with yo until you trash talked my Josie. That movie was awesome. Went to see it in the theaters EXPECTING to sit in the back and snark, and instead adored it all too much.
Because what seems like a sincere comment comes along with questioning people expressing the very issue that they are now stating doubt in and asking for more proof.
Here is what happens when women are straightforward in rejecting attempts to pick them up from random men:
I was just about to heartily suggest that.
Because their only other option is to comprehend that there is something that is wrong with them personally and specifically. And they absolutely cannot, will not, do that. So...
They believe that all guys are like them. That all men hate women and want to treat them badly and that they are ‘better’ because they are capable of (temporarily at least) not abusing/mistreating women in order to gain their affections. To them, this is some sort of horrid, difficult chore.
While this may be difficult for us to understand, I also think that it is important that people share that they have miscarriages, that miscarriages happen, because SO MANY WOMEN have miscarriages and they (and their co-parents) often feel very isolated and alone because they are made to feel that they shouldn’t talk…
There were women who were against suffrage, for reals. Like, virulently against women getting the vote. Because it is a very comfortable place to be, the privileged special flower supporting the status quo against the interests of your own group.
It’s called “Lewis’s Law” and it goes “The comments on any article about feminism justify feminism.”
Part of me thinks that it might have something to do with prepartum depression. It can be just as serious and mind-altering as postpartum can get.
Conservative brainworks: Christian pharmacists are totally okay refusing to provide birth control. Christian bakers are totally okay refusing to bake cakes for legal weddings. But muslim clerks are COMMITTING SHARIA LAWWWWWWW if they refuse to sell alcohol or pork (even though, generally speaking, they aren’t).…
Argh. You know what? My brother has a gofundme. To help him pay for the medical treatment he needs for his BRAIN CANCER after he got shafted on his pension and health care because he made the mistake of working for decades for a city that went bankrupt and paid out to the retirees last.
Just so angering the number of things that women are expected to not do (from wearing tight clothes to wearing anything that exposes even an inch of skin, from going to a frat party drunk to going out of the house at all, etc. etc.) just because society won't expect men to not do just ONE thing (attack women).
Absolutely. When I was in university decades ago, the campus Randians uses to always stop by our Amnesty International table in the Student Union and wax rhapsodic about How Very Libertarian Amnesty International was.
As a father, I hope you will look at the actual statistics and realize that any child in the house is many times more likely to be hurt by the gun in the house (or hurt someone else) than ever to be protected by it. Home invasions are vanishingly rare. Accidents where children hurt or kill themselves or others are…
I look down at my little child and can have nothing in my heart but HATRED for Carla Wood Alcorn. She was given the awesome gift of a beautiful child who loved and depended on her, who NEEDED her to love her back... and she destroyed her daughter. As much as killed her. I hope she rots in hell.
At least on the Hooters episode there was some "CEO realizes there is rampant sexism in the way some male managers run female-server based businesses." issues and in the Tilted Kilt episode, they realized that their ranking system had turned into a beauty/popularity contest and needed to change to be more equitable.…
Can I just say that this is the thing that most disturbs me about this article:
Eh, you know, I thought Lisa Marie and Tim Burton were the beacon of weird hope until he cheated on her with Helena and dumped her. So I don't doubt at all that he was stepping out on Helena, it seems to be a pattern with him.
