I think the confusion lies in the fact that the statement would make sense if anyone, or our culture, had made the assertion that black lives don’t matter. Of course, BLM would make that assertion, but I consider it a foolish and overstated assertion.

A legal education has lead me to not presume that words that are not present are intended to be there.

As a very liberal person living in a very conservative state in the south, I cannot help but think that the attention that has been brought to the issue by BLM is negative.
