And here’s the thing — the tariffs might be 25%, but you’ll be shocked to know that companies will raise them by 35% (or more), just because they know that most stupid Americans cannot do percentages. So they’ll collect an extra 10% on the backend but blame the entirety of the increase on the tariffs.

The biggest problem with that is the people who wanted this are too stupid to know why things are more expensive. They’ll be blaming Biden/Dems for the next 4 years for anything that goes wrong while praising Trump for anything that goes well in their life. Any real correlation or causation will be completely ignored.

Just wait until Canada cuts off oil exports to the US and the price of gas jumps a dollar or two.  Try explaining to your uncle that he voted for that.

Don’t know where you’re living but there are over 275K Mavericks out there.  Seeing a large percentage being used for businesses.

As I’ve said elsewhere, one of the biggest DEI gains was for the elderly- age discrimination in workplaces is a lot harder thanks to DEI, because including (inclusive) elderly (diverse) workers and making accommodations for them (equity) makes our workplaces better and makes us more stable as a society.

It’s going to be tragic hilarious when all the aging boomers suddenly find that DEI includes hiring protections for the elderly, workplace accommodations for the elderly and communication accommodations for the elderly (diversity, equity and inclusion is most often for age, not race). Oh, sorry, you’re too old. You

The people that tell you that DEI is discrimination against white people are the same who will tell you that affirmative action is discrimination against white people and is reverse racism against whites. Disgruntled white people are angry that they have to compete for jobs against people who don’t look like them on

Siri, show me a metaphor for 2025.

his base is too damn dumb to put those two very recent and very directly related things together. Or they are willingly ignoring the facts.

Yeah, that made me laugh, we got an “amazing deal” for NAFTA 2.0 and now it’s a bad thing. Your administration implemented it...

Koenigsegg should buy the rights and bring back Saab. (Bring it home)

Take all the extreme tech and lessons learned from development of their halo cars, and use that experience to make modern, safe, and affordable vehicles for the masses.

A “trade deficit” is not inherently a bad thing, or a sign you’re losing money.  Everyone has a trade deficit with their grocery store.  They buy tons of food from them, but never sell them anything.  Is that a problem that needs to be fixed?

This isnt even news anymore.

Its because they know their base is fucking dumber than a bag of rusty hammers. They know exactly jack shit about even basic economics. A lot of their knowledge of money is how much one of their bro-dozers with a lift kit costs versus how much a new trailer costs. They hear that we are going to put tariffs on cars

Didn’t Trump negotiate “the most beautiful deal” in the NAFTA 2.0 agreement? (USMCA) Why is he all of a sudden saying the USA is “subsidizing” Canada?

Republicans are - I think the term is “showing their asses?” - on this Tariff thing. Tariffs represent everything they’ve spent the last decade decrying:

Except the super rich. An economic collapse is the fastest and most efficient way to take away wealth from the working class give it to the billionaire class.

AI rivals crypto mining as the biggest waste of electricity and compte power.  There's also the water use issue.  Google's data center in The Dalles is already controversial for its water use and the slightly shady deal with the local government to hide water use as a "trade secret".

Not content to simply poison the online world, they also have to destroy the offline.

AI and crypto mining are destroying the world while providing no meaningful benefit to society. Gotta love it.
