I think they did make the tough decision…. Allie's plan made sense and everyone there appeared happy. Even Jasper said he was happy. The tough decision was to say we would rather face this upcoming problem on our own and find a way out. Also they ended up killing a bunch of people… who were actually innocent victims…

I agree with you about the second part, but disagree with the First part.. Lexa was always planned to be in the finally. Eric (ign) semi-spoiled that around the same time that she was killed… when he mentioned the scenes being shot in Vancouver.
