I’m in NYC and it’s about the same right now (and I LOVE IT SO MUCH). I just had such a rough time last winter (Seasonal Affective Disorder, difficulty making any plans that involved leaving the house), that I can’t imagine going anywhere the same or worse.

I went to Vancouver/Victoria when I was about 12 (so, sulky preteen who didn’t really pay attention), but I’ve heard good things. is it seriously as expensive as I’ve heard? I’m in NYC but heard it’s even worse than that.

hmmm, not really sure. I’ve only been once, to victoria/vancouver, but I was pretty young. I’m just so scared of the cold after last winter (seriously - have discussed it with my shrink), that I don’t want to ever move somewhere with a winter the same or worse than NYC.

That’s like in NYC right now! I LOOOOOVE it so much. The cold last year was so emotionally scarring that I had to talk to my therapist about anxiety regarding how my life changes in the winter. “Winter is coming”, alright.

If Canada’s average temperatures were about 20 degrees warmer, I’d be right there with you. Unfortunately the cold is just such a deal breaker for me!

Obama’s response had me tearing up at work. If you haven’t read that full story on HoNY, I highly recommend it. He’s such a class act and I’m so proud to have him as our president!

yeah, I feel like every year there are comedy nominees which are absolutely dramas with a few jokes. but the drama field is way more competitive/has more contenders.
