Makes sense, she can’t stay with someone for too long. Otherwise they start asking questions about how she never ages and needs permission to enter people’s homes.

How would this have been a case of Cinemark “bilking” the plaintiffs? What does Cinemark need to apologize for?

No, he’s going to veto a bill that would open up the US to all kinds of foreign lawsuits.

I’m sure deep down she really respects your need to remain morally pure.

Sam Bee is not obligated to support your quixotic dream of remaking our democracy at the expense of our actual democracy.

Jesus. It’s disheartening how many people here are the protagonist in “First they came. . . “ I really hope all ya’ll who think the First Amendment shouldn’t have to protect things you find unpalatable never have to live in the world you’re asking for.

I’m curious as to the time line encompassing her becoming his ex and her destroying his car by driving into a flood. Which came first, how much time had passed, etc.

I talked to the family about it and that’s not exactly what happened. They say she took the keys at a gathering, didn’t listen to warnings about the floods. No arrests, no police reports. I run with what I can prove.

I say that if pursuing this calling helps her feel better, then we leave her be. She’s not likely to convince anyone of anything, nor harm anyone else.

Is it wrong that the second I read that someone represented themself in a trial, they instantly lose all credibility for me? Like, I was in full agreement that this lady should fight the power. . . until I read the self representation thing. Now I’m thinking she’s a mess.

How about another April Fool’s day like swap with Deadspin

Didn’t we do this a year ago?

Here’s what I said back then, edited to add the epic pun a commenter pointed that I missed. Still holds true, IMHO:

And most importantly, you get to be self righteous in comment threads about engagement rings. And who can put a price on that?

already read it. i’ve read pretty much every single book on fundamentalist mormons but as far as i know there are none out yet specifically about the yearning for zion ranch in texas or lyle jeffs. probably going to have to wait 10+ years to get them
