Going to try to be as careful as possible here, but while he should be able to compete in the boys division without everyone losing their shit, don’t those parents have a point that someone on testosterone maybe shouldn’t be able to wrestle girls?

Here’s a Hot Take. Mark Cuban can get fucked with a tire iron. Just because he’s not a Trump guy doesn’t mean he’s not another piece of shit billionaire who has no issues intimidating the press to make sure his garbage basketball teams fees aren’t hurt.
Yeah. I have a lot of respect for close up magicians. It’s a skill I wish I had. Plus it’s just as demanding as any skill. Now, illusions are another story.
This is so simple though—there are going to be tons of things you don’t personally “get,” but can still appreciate the skill or artistry or practice of. It’s a basic distinction that people learn to make fast. I hate MMA, but I can appreciate the work and all. It’s just so...simple. Where were you lost?
Yes, but if they did have a world championship for “slight of hand” I imagine trump would dominate.
Also how many times do you need to need to be told to put helplines and places you can access help for suicidal ideation and depression at the end of the article?
I don’t “get” magic either. I just don’t enjoy it like others do. But my brother in law is supremely talented with cards and sleight of hand. Even if you don’t like it, it’s an impressive skill. From what he’s posted on fb about this, it’s clear this guy was one of his idols and an influence for many.
It’s still members only, but members can bring guests.
I personally am way more impressed by sleight of hand magic than like, the stuff that involves complicated props and mirrors and fireworks stuffed up your sleeve. It takes dexterity and practice and when it looks easy and effortless it just means the person doing it is really good. Seriously, look up a youtube video…
Media shouldn’t describe in detail (like you have) the method of suicide.
One would think that ghosts have lived long enough to gain some true understanding or compassion.
I was just at the Magic Castle a few days ago for an event. It’s such an amazing space and everyone who performs there is brilliant. They were lovely hosts. It’s definitely one of the coolest places in LA.
I also know a magician who is a regular performer there and he’s absolutely devastated over this. From what he…
They don’t. It’s for sleight of hand.
Oh, get over yourself. It’s a skillful art form. Just because you don’t appreciate it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t honor those who achieve greatness within their community.
I’m a terrible human being. Please mock my death when I’m gone.
The commentators have to be the editors here, because it’s clear nobody does copy edit at Deadspin.
Thanks for grading my post on a criterion that doesn’t exist. People leave comments for various reasons—if someone doesn’t like getting feedback in this manner, perhaps they shouldn’t write for a blog.
Willing to bet a lot of money that Wendlestedt decided to be a douchebag, assumed he could read Frias’s mind, and drew all the attention to himself in a game in fucking February.
The video seems really staged. 6 min with background music. This couldn’t have been news to her. Not to say she wasn’t genuinely hurt, but you have to assume they were seeking publicity by making the video. He probably expected empathy, and never expected hatred and anger from public. Oh well....karma
Can we get one of those body language ppl to verify this is real? I smell B.S. my reasoning is not PC so.....
