Absolutely! My dad always liked cars, so that rubbed off on me. He never said “no” to buying a Hot Wheels when we went to Kmart.

When I was 3 we bought our 1984 Toyota Van LE 5MT [which I still have an is my baby]. In November 1989 he got an Eclipse GSX which was badass and really got me to appreciate speed. It was

[twas a joke]

Maritime law is complicated

Agree. I’m fine with Karun’s analysis & takes usually, but Joylon does almost always have really solid insights.

yah, that’s fair assessment.  I think it’s a bad look to say have Hamilton sit out a race or whatever.  That kind of stuff undermines the reasonable discussion and just basically becomes the 5th grader mentality of  “just nuke em all”

Good point. I too was pulling for Lando and bummed both he and Sainz had slow stops. Could have mixed things up for sure!
I think had things played out such that Lewis finished somewhere between 2nd-7th, the bulk of people would say fine. The rabid Max army would not be satiated either way.

I know this isn’t a

I think it was mostly a racing incident. Had Hamilton pitted to check damage and fallen back I think many/most people would say that’s “justice” and there’d be a lot less noise.

The stewards either should have said no penalty (which would be hard for them after the prior race) OR they hand out a penalty equivalent to

I would have expected larger roots on a tree that big. interesting.

Yah, this is very true. It’s (relatively) hopping when there’s a game/concert or happenings in Playhouse Square. Or during work hours M-F. But we just don’t have the population overall to keep things full when Ohio City or University Circle pulls people from downtown.
The trade-off is it’s manageable, but yah...we’re

I worked downtown Cleveland when they were filming these movies.  It was cool to see all those Acuras.  Also cool to see how they made our public square look like 1940s Germany for Captain America (I think).  Other parts of downtown dressed up like New York.

Craig’s Daily Show wasn’t great, but I do think his Late Late Show was pretty funny.  5 Questions, Yambo, etc.  I think Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show was ultimately amazing, but Kilborns was enjoyable still!

That was my view of it too.  Cheering about the approaching cars and looks like Lewis is making a move.  It’s all split seconds, but it sure seemed like they stopped as soon as Max was hit and spin off.

This is what is bugging me so much. I think had he shuffled to the back and was forced to work his way through the field, we’d all see it as a racing incident and feel things were “balanced” as it were. But to punt Max out and then be sitting comfortably for the podium. Hell, even after the long stop, I don’t think he

Yup.  We call out those who dive bomb and can’t hit the apex.  how is this any better?

ESPECIALLY since he got a free pit stop from the red flag.  Had he been forced to pit, the stewards would have see he “gave back his advantage”.  But getting a free stop and then 10s is a slap on the wrist.

I saw one of the later All Starr Bands (1997): Peter Frampton, Jack Bruce, Simon Kirke (Bad Company & Free), Gary Brooker (Procol Harum). They too, brought it.

That was a weird 3 act show with them headlining along with Aretha Franklin and Three Dog Night.

Yup.  PT was never my favorite driver but I appreciate his talent and this extra stuff he brings to the series.  It’s a shame he’s such a prick about it now too.  Moaning about cancel culture constantly.  Dude, if you wanna rile people up, don’t get mad when they’re riled up, ya know?

It’s worth seeing what kind of shenanigans Paul Tracy gets into this week

Yes! Come on! This is like a gold standard racing game. The Indy 500 game from a few yrs prior was also very solid.

CART Precision Racing (Microsoft) was fine too.  But I guess calling out CART Fury gets more clicks.

But they could afford the Kinks!
