There was a NASCAR Camaro parked 2 cars down from me. There was a Buick GN there, a handful of fox body Mustangs, even a couple of Camaro RSes,  but no IROC Camaros.

Yes, as these boxes age, they get really sloppy. I was lucky enough to buy one of the last NOS steering boxes from Mazda a couple of years ago. Transformed the car.

You’re forgetting a couple of things: 110x4 vs 114.3x4 wheels. Much easier (and cheaper) to find GSL-SE-friendly wheels than GSL wheels. Brakes bigger as well.

It’s an endurance race, not a sprint. You break, you lose. Attrition is part of the game. That car was de-tuned for reliability. It could have been faster but they chose to ensure they finished the race.

The guy has a cold and he’s just making sure the car doesn’t get it. The Japanese are very polite that way.
