The universe in Planescape was fantastic.
My only major problem with Paranoia was what it did to players, which often took the game as an excuse to turn a tabletop session into an episode of Looney Toons. (So much so that later editions of the game became gradually more slapstick). It was funny like the first three times, and got less so every bit past that.
