Mercedes is probably the most real jalop writer left. Digs in to hopeless vehicles most would not touch with a 10' pole and does stuff. Even if it is letting them sit too long, she at least gets them up again. Crazy projects, hoarding and illegal parking; it’s all there.

Mercedes Streeter is a solid replacement for David Tracy, with less risk of a tetanus infection.

Maybe it’s a Hail Mary attempt to stanch the torrent of absolutely deserved ill will Rory unleashed yesterday with his now-deleted, utterly fucking tone-deaf, pissy little bitch comment yesterday.

I’m just impressed that David turned being that weird old guy down the road whose yard is full of car parts and who is always covered in oil into a career.

New-ish (came on board back in December) Jalopnik writer here! It’s certainly a bittersweet day that they are leaving us, but I am so excited to see what these two do next. I’m sure it’ll be great.
