NASCAR was founded by bootleggers who were trying to see who had the fastest car to run moonshine in. Cheating is not part of the culture and history of NASCAR, it IS the history and culture of NASCAR. If you have any doubt, google Smokey Yunick, (11 foot fuel line, basketball in fuel tank, etc). NASCAR needs to keep

I should have voted, CP, but I didn’t. The allure of attaching a drop hitch on this and pulling U-haul around town (“You never see a hearse pulling a U-haul”), is too much to ignore. More ideas come to me by the minute. There is easily $8500 worth of fun to be had with this beast.

It matters when it comes to value. For example, there is little difference between a classic Firebird, Trans AM, or Camaro, or at least less then between this and a true Supra. The values on those cars vary widely. A “Bandit Edition” Firebird is worth far more than a similarly optioned Camaro. Car values are fickle

Growing up, we were quite poor, and my mom was determined that we have nutritious food. We at lots of beans, potatoes, had a garden and ate what was in season. Meat was whatever was on sale or cheap. As a kid, there was much of this I did not like, but I had to eat it. My mom would not make us eat a large helping of

I would love to own that car, but at about 1/2 the price. It is not a Supra, and there is no way this car is worth that kind of money.

Here is a little PSA. If you record a song called “Cop Killer” your chances of just getting off with a ticket or a warning, when they have an excuse to arrest you, drop to approximately zero

Yes, but you didn’t record a song called “Cop Killer”, which I suspect is the major difference.

No need to apologize, I am old enough to find my teenage stupidity funny as well.

As a teenager, I discovered octane boost increased the performance of my VW beetle. The more I added, the faster it got (at least I was convinced of that), so I kept adding more until I blew a spark plug out of the head.

This is an interesting question. I graduated from high school in 1993. At the time I had a 1970 VW Beetle, which I felt like was an ancient car. However, I don’t look at a 1993 car the same way I looked at that Beetle. It doesn’t seem as old to me, when in fact, it is actually older than my Beetle was in 93. I wonder

Dear Stressed, if you think those are personal questions, please don’t ever venture to the south. They are just being friendly. If you can’t handle those types of conversations, go back to you safe space and look for another line of work. This is just ridiculous.

I think they accidentally added an extra zero to the price. A quick google search puts the scrap value at about $500, so at $490, I would say nice price.

Jason, do you live in Colorado by any chance? Often your post, while entertaining, seem like they were written by someone who enjoys the produce that is legal in that state.

Dang, I really like it a lot, but that is just too much money. It would have to be bone stock and lower miles, and it would still be pushing the envelope on pricing. CP

I think I read an article about something similar 20 years ago, something about acid rain destroying all the crops. Then about 10 years ago, Al Gore said the sea levels would rise about 20 feet by now. Pardon me if I don’t panic just yet.

Once a car is no longer reliable, then it is time to replace it in my book. Older cars require more repairs, and I am fine with that, but once I don’t trust it for trips, or the hassle of dealing with it is too much, it is time to move on to a significantly newer vehicle.

Kill it with fire. CP at any price higher than scrap, especially with 150K.

If someone likes these and wants a project, then it is a nice price. Everyone keeps commenting but you can get this running (insert ratted out crap can) for the same price. The fact that this is clean and cared for is what makes it worth the money.

Tell me, how has the union worked out for Gawker? They sure haven’t preserved any jobs. They have taken dues from you. The content is definitely not any better. Seen any big raises recently? Any added benefits? Unions claim to help employees, but they ultimately hurt the company and union bosses get rich by telling
