It was a really strange show since it was my first exposure to live canned music, you had a band whom was a solid live performance act followed by two sets that sounded like someone just put the album on. Since I've yet to see an opener just completely brought the party and the main acts just couldn't keep up.
I saw them years ago with Orbital and The Crystal Method, I should have left after their set as it was done because it was the only highlight of the show.

Bebop actually does have pretty absurd storylines but the lack of anime tropes like exclamation points and giant tears is mostly absent so it never feels like the show is lampooning the material.
