I have a standard 85mm prime EF series (not as swank as the one used for the POTUS shot) and it has a pretty wide range (3-20 feet). Someone correct me if I am wrong but the typical 50mm prime is the same lens as a standard 50-150mm sans the zoom function and chopped to be a prime, my understanding is that it is

Paycheck is probably the least cerebal of PKD adaptions by a long stretch, it isn't bad but it isn't worth watching for any particular reason. I am surprised it hasn't been re-remade however as it is one of his more compelling stories.

So lemme get this straight, we are lambasting the evidence of not just an assault but an allegation of rape against a family member? Stay classy interwebs.

I said "some people" (god knows haters gonna hate) but that obviously wasn't the case with most people. Honestly I wasn't 100% in love with HL2 as I felt HL was better paced, but then again HL was very formative for me.

I'm imagining a hurricane of blood and lead, shaped like a blood eagle, screaming down from the sky onto a terrified mass of kittens running for their lives.

Valve seems to be doing pretty well without releasing HL games whenever people want it. People said that HL2 wasn't up to par, which isn't in any way true, so le them do what they want. Which is to release games that are normally revolutionary.

We obviously didn't watch the same thing. I'll just take my hat and leave.

Technical aspects of the job are a lot more important than most people realize, most working directors don't have a strong grasp of budgeting/timing for effects heavy work (I'd provide some funny stories about The Avengers and Joss Whedon, but I don't want to get friends in trouble). So finding people who like to

As a professional filmmaker I was extremely impressed.

Isn't feet over wheels the proper skating stance for downhill riding on a street deck or a stale fish?

Agreed. They should buy Volition too and rebrand Saints Row as a GTA game. If they then put GTA:SR and GTA on rival development cycles they can have a much steadier stream of revenue from the series.

I would have gone with the full cafe tail instead of that bat-wing shit.

The core that killed Daghlian was dubbed the "demon core" as it was involved in another accident that resulted in a far more horrific result. The core was used in a test blast a few weeks after the second accident. And someone needs to name a band "Son Of Demon Core."

Yes and no. Is it okay to maybe imply that you have big people attached and let the internet do its thing? Yeah, probably. Is it okay to say that someone is going to work on a project when they haven't been contracted, along with a full press release? Absolutely not.

The ability to capitalize on that would be limited by the lens, card, and the CPU handling playback/recording. Sure, they can get more info with a bigger sensor but there is only so much your eyes can perceive at a range and only so much bandwidth you can cram into a card. Last gen CMOS sensors can literally show you

Heh, wasn't thinking.

I feel that sense of "lack of direction" was intentional (as silly as that might sound) but a concept inherently based on misdirection/unplausible situations logically needs to juggle that aspect well, slight of hand works miracles in that situation. Which Looper does.

Off hand, having not seen The Master, Zero Dark Thirty and maybe Skyfall if you can forgive or reconcile the third act there. Moonrise Kingdom and Drive both strike me as contenders but neither would have traction to win. It has been a weird year for scripts as many good ones have been screwed over by bad execution
