Well I did say that two of the artists I mentioned had the basic idea down, right? Mainly Lee and Madeuria, maybe Kirby and Ditko. And no, they really don't when you get into Miller, Mignola, and Otomo. They all built around composition and expression. Are we splitting hairs here or something to make a point?

Well, considering if you believe bad anatomy to be a sign of bad art then by that definition then a resounding and unapologetic yes.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't know you in person. And on a side note; if all artists were such anatomy nuts we wouldn't have people like Frank Miller, Mike Mignola, Munch, or Beardsley. German Expressionism, Art Nouveau, Expressionism, Ukiyo, Golden/Silver/modern age comics, and countless other movements wouldn't exist. Just

Well I certainly don't agree with your comment on the anatomy at all. Just curious, are you an artist?

Strangely, maybe I am just nitpicking, I preffer the less polished sketches more than the final piece. The final looks like a photo that has been manipulated after the fact, I am not saying the artist isn't talented (because he is extremely talented) but the sketches feel more alive to me.

What time of day do you usually work? I am guessing night is more likely correct?

Hey guys, come on. Plenty of great things have come from people who haven't the faintest clue about what they are writing about. Atlas Shrugged, Pluto Nash, and The Crow 2 are great examples of people turning the idea of an "I can't" into a resounding "I can!" I don't think we should judge until the fragrance line and

If anyone isn't familiar with Miike's work I'd recommend 13 Assassins, Audition, or just about anything else he has done. If you have a strong stomach then Ichi The Killer (I can easily stand extremely violent films but Ichi actually makes me wince on a few spots which I guess is why I find it such an effective film.

I propose a new drinking game, everytime Morning Spoilers says "grain of salt" take a drink.

Your asshat is this way. ———————>

Can we do the same for people who use the term "ricer" like it's not racist?

My point with Kill Bill is that it was a modestly successful genre mash-up of genres that are considered all but dead. Yeah, very much agree with Scott Pilgrim. But as you stated the source material was too niche for a wide audience, if it had been given an animated series aimed at YA market a few years before the

I agree with Watchmen but the source material was in fact weak for a film adaption in my opinion (who would have thought the ol' Wizened Wizard was right). The concepts were far too steeped in comic literacy for it to totally work as a film. That being said it didn't do terribly for a movie that was never really

I can't think of any 12 year olds who have seen Alien. It was a bit of a stretch but my point was that a "prequel" to a film from 1979 doesn't seem to fit the comments in the article. Plus considering there are many studies that have shown that historical literacy among the youth of today is at levels of laughable

1. Titanic, Ghostbusters, and Prometheus would beg to differ.

"Riced out" isn't douchey or racist in any way shape or form. I thought I'd cover the flak before it came.

God does not play dice. But hear he plays Kino though.

Yeah, the high res helps.

I guess I can't birdwatch glass for shit, most of them off hand looked like consumer grade (non-pro) to me aside from the one I mentioned.
