Well I did say that two of the artists I mentioned had the basic idea down, right? Mainly Lee and Madeuria, maybe Kirby and Ditko. And no, they really don't when you get into Miller, Mignola, and Otomo. They all built around composition and expression. Are we splitting hairs here or something to make a point?

Strangely, maybe I am just nitpicking, I preffer the less polished sketches more than the final piece. The final looks like a photo that has been manipulated after the fact, I am not saying the artist isn't talented (because he is extremely talented) but the sketches feel more alive to me.
