Terrorists want you to be scared. That’s why they’re called terrorists. What does being scared of them accomplish? Not one person who was injured in the Chelsea bombing died. Not one of them is even still in the hospital.

The thing is, I am a coward. I wouldn’t put myself on the front line of anything if there was definitely going to be violence... but go to a mall? Go walking the streets of New York? Take a train? That doesn’t scare me either. They killed a handful of people. Even 9/11. Not to downplay the horror, but that’s the best they’ve ever done and it’s a couple of thousand deaths with new attacks trickling out every few months and killing a few more here and there...

Not just the Trump campaign, unfortunately, and I say this as a Clinton supporter. The Clinton campaign put out their terrorism defense plan within 24 hours of the attack, as if they had it ready and were waiting for an attack to post it. It felt very craven to me.

They still haven’t claimed responsibility as far as I know, and they were happy to claim responsibility for that guy in the mall in Minnesota right away. I guess they figure at least that guy had backbone enough to stick around and face the consequences for his actions.

I guarantee you that every single time there is an attack, every single peaceful Muslim the world over says, “please, not a Muslim.” Because it’s the actions of these few that end up not just falling back on them and their families, but radicalizing their children because of that fallback, who then complete the cycle…

If this is the best foreign terrorists have got, I am not even remotely in terror of them. All the people injured in Chelsea are already out of the hospital. None of the people stabbed in Minnesota died. Nobody was hurt with their unexploded bombs.

Once again, I really don’t think this is the right time or place to have this discussion. It requires clear heads and calm. That’s not going to happen while people are still reeling from the horror described above.
