IIRC, Iron Man 3 has a scene where he’s ostensibly gathering women for some group sex, even though it’s really a distraction for some non-sexual heroing.

1) That’s not what gatekeeping means.
Oof, the discipline/punish distinction is so hard to communicate about. I’ve had so many conversations to the effect of:
There’s no shame in making important topics accessible. Unless there’s something you find particularly objectionable about the way one of the topics is handled, you shouldn’t assume that listicles are universally assumed to be inherently fluffy and unserious. Like it or not, people get information from all kinds of…
So you’re fine giving your kid a negative label, but you bristle at having one applied to you? You might want to think about that one a bit.
More often than not, it feels like the complaints come from comedians who don’t like the audience they’ve cultivated, tending to think they’re owed a younger and hipper one.
Bandcamp is a great model. I wish it were better for the kind of music I listen to, but I haven’t tried it in a while so it might be worth another look.
I did this for decades, but I finally gave in to Spotify a few months ago. All of my previous tools for buying and managing music were slowly becoming cumbersome or outright obsolete for day-to-day use. I find that I’m listening to a lot more new and exciting music now, and, even if my access to it is at the pleasure…

Hell, even the community at The Root quickly shut down this bullshit very quickly.

I think you’re supposed to screencap this comment and then, in the off chance I have any notoriety in 20 years, post it on Twitter to expose my racist past.
Yeah, I keep wondering who these press conferences are even for. It seems like the only people who miss them are the pathetic reporters whose existence they justify. Do they really need an athlete to sit up there and give the same boring platitudes over and over again? Can’t these reporters just watch the tape and…
You see, a couple decades ago she participated in an organization that was pretty racist a few decades prior. This made me realize that, since I went to a college that only desegregated a hundred years before I was born, I’m also in the Klan, so now I have to deal with that.
Agreed. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for today’s 19-year-olds having every dumb thing they say or do immortalized on social media. I’m very lucky that there are probably a dozen pictures of me at 19 and likely no online traces.
Ugh, “her racist past” is even in the headline. By that logic, any white person who went to a school, worked at a company, or joined an organization founded before 1960 has an identical “racist past,” because all of America’s past and a lot of its present is pretty racist.
Agreed. Nobody could have achieved what they wanted him to do, especially with a tiny budget and timeline, and he was too full of himself to say no.
I realized that I was answering a slightly different question from what you asked in my first post, but the data reported say that Republicans and white people (most of whom are Republicans) are less supportive of BLM than they were in April 2020. It’s not crazy to think that getting an all-out anti-BLM blitz in…
The analogy actually holds better than I expected in that case. It’s pretty normal for people to, after giving up on a resolution/diet/whatever, backslide on unhealthy eating BEYOND where they were previously. It’s a very common feature of disordered eating.
