I was really close to doing this a few months back but decided not to because I am ordering a Synology NAS with VPN options built in. I trust Synology's VPN setup more than a home made Raspberry Pi VPN setup. Originally I used my Pi for a home security motion tracking camera but it would hang, lock up, and reboot

So it helps your battery...but what about slowness? Closing the apps out still keeps your iOS device running at its fastest, correct?

When I first did this hack, I had to run the command on BOTH Macs to allow the new Mac to detect the old Mac. I tried running this script again on both Macs, no dice.

I did this (or a similar) hack back when AirDrop first came out and it worked fine. Now only my old Mac can see my new Mac. My new Mac can not find the old Mac in AirDrop. Any idea as to why?

Outdoor lovers won't have to worry about keeping their gadgets juiced up with this solar charging pack, available for $75 today from Woot. Even if you don't think you'll need your phone while camping, having a basically unlimited power supply should bring you peace of mind if something were to go wrong and you needed

I have an Airport, not a Time Capsule, but I love it! Out of the last 2 Linksys routers and one D-Link router I've had, the Airport has the least amount of problems. Highly recommended if your house is full of Apple products.

Does PushBullet send the data OTA or over LAN or both? Wondering if this will work on my iPad over LAN. Would be nice to have one app that does this for both my Android phone and iPad.

Thank you! Also, that movie looks awesome...I know what I'm watching this weekend!

Unrelated to the article topic, but is there a name for this kind of art? I like that the photo of this man is traced and outlined.

Wow, that Smart Monitor Shelf is sexy looking! I found this product a month or so ago...it has more functions but doesn't look nearly as nice. Decisions decisions...

I wanted to save $2,000 in six months to buy an engagement ring. I setup a goal in Simple and it automatically set aside approximately $9 a day. Before I knew it, I had enough money to buy the ring!

I have a spare Macbook Pro (2008 non-unibody) and Dell Inspiron e1705 laying around that could be used for this project, but I'd rather have a small compact tower with the drives enclosed as well as an energy efficient system since it will be operating 24/7.

Just checked Chrome's version and I'm on 33.0.1750.58 beta and says I'm up to date. Checked my flags and it says Now is enabled. I still don't see any Google Now... I'm guessing that Chrome isn't on the latest beta despite it telling me it is?

I used it for a while until one day it stopped connecting to my home PC. Then someone told me to uninstall an reinstall the extension on both PCs...now, it works fine!

I tried setting up ARD once before and ran into networking issues. Maybe I should give it another shot.

Would also like to know this...$4 seems like too much when I should be able to just view the directory in Finder.

My biggest creep actually came from Gizmodo or Engadget comments, I can't remember. I commented on a topic about the death of Microsoft Silverlight saying that it doesn't affect me because I don't use it and I can't think of any friends that use it either. This Microsoft fanboy found me on Facebook and looked up
