The over-the-air update was made available from January 23, free of charge to Tesla owners.

It’s more people love to shit all over Tesla’s for no other reason than they see other people shitting all over Tesla’s.

1 - Title is bait - discredits authenticity of the reporting here.

Any article about Tesla is going to be a hit piece because they’re piles of garbage.

and Apple recalls all iPhones ever made every few months...

Headline sounds like a hit piece. Stated differently: “Tesla addresses voluntary recall to every vehicle with OTA update and no customer impact”

I agree completely but in Daniel’s use case, it’s a rental car. For most common people, they’re not going to be in their normal state of mind while traveling. So, their frustration can be a excused away.

He’s a iPhone user. He has no idea that USB C existed until he upgraded this year.

U haul rents trucks for those exceedingly rare moments in your life you’ll ever, ever need a truck.

But labor costs have riven for non-union shops as well, it’s been in the news. The market will hit an equilibrium around these new labor inputs and we will all be paying more, as a direct impact from those contracts. Could a non union shop be a couple points less, sure, but it’s also still a couple points more based

That’s very true. But greed being greed, car manufacturers will definitely increase the price of new cars to reflect the raise in labor cost. It won’t be a big amount but it will still be there. We won’t notice it per say, as it will be mixed with the rise in costs for everything else. But it will still be there.

And

I think a big problem is that while in Europe, mostly, anti speeding measures are aimed at deterring speeding and managing infrastructure to deter and prevent, our anti speeding measures are based on making money for local sheriffs’ departments. They neither deter nor prevent, but seek to hoodwink and extort instead.

Jeeps used to be made for folks wanting to go off-roading and mudding.  Now, they are for collecting ducks while parked at the mall.

I pretty much agree with you here, but the other problem that nobody seems to address is the fact that a lot of new cars, mostly EVs, have changed the basic use of their vehicles. Everyone knows how to hop in an older ICE vehicle, put it in gear, and use all the things required to drive (wipers, turn signals, HVAC).

I came to review people’s comments on how the model 3 sells for $33k in China but starts at $40k in USA.

Boy we’re a sour bunch on the internet today aren’t we? It looks to me like the “60k C8" is pretty solidly equipped, any yet nearly the entire first page of comments is dedicated to talking shit about the fact that the rear view camera is government mandated, and so we shouldn’t give GM credit for implementing it?
