I’ve had my non-performance for 4 months. Coming from a BMW 428 Gran Coupe, and a Model S before that.

What expectation of privacy do you have in a stranger’s car in public? Probably not too much.
.
Time for the new version, “Not Auto-Pilot Buddy”.
With a Model S in the background as the guy folds his arms across his chest.
Jaguar XJ limo spotted at 2:38. Remember limos? That was a funny time.
It doesn’t really matter to me what my car payment is, so long as the interest rate, depreciation, fuel cost and maintenance are relatively low. Cash flow is a totally different discussion than ownership cost.
I think you need to start taxing by the mile*weight to address road maintenance, then a carbon tax of fuel and electricity for environmental damage. And maybe a tax if you enter the city center with a vehicle that releases toxic fumes.
Jalopnik headline yesterday:
Every time I’ve driven a Model S with autopilot, it knows when I take my hands off the wheel for an extended period of time, so they did something to make that work. And my Model 3 has an interior camera, although I didn’t pay for AP so I can’t say what it’s for (hi NSA!).
And I was just saying how F1 races were fun to watch again this year. Yeah, not so much yesterday.
I was a season ticket holder for about 10 years. The main problem is that the Diamondbacks play baseball, and baseball is played in summer. Despite having an air-conditioned dome, the fans still have to get to the stadium. This means fighting traffic, parking and walking in 110 degree heat, or taking the light rail…
Exactly, they obviously haven’t been watching this year.
The last two races were some of the best in years. Lots of overtaking, Red Bull on Red Bull violence, pit strategy, closing lap drama, and at least 6 drivers with a chance to win each race. This comes following a 4 year stretch of Mercedes parades, and a 4 year stretch of RB parades. The competition is back!
I was in between cars, so I borrowed one for a month. This had no satellite radio or any way of connecting a device. I’ll try out an FM tuner, I thought. Did you know that large cities, even in the Northwest, have every single station populated by shitty country music?
Good question!
The Model S is like 20 grand more expensive than it was when I bought mine. My Model 3 has double the range, a better screen, better software, it’s faster and handles better, all for about the same price as the base Model S40 five years ago. Plus, the S was designed ten years ago and could use a full revision update.
Yeah but I’m talking about the average run rate for Q1, not what they’re doing right now. They’re delivering cars in the high 11k VIN range, and were at about 2k at the end of December. Will they do an all-hands end of quarter push to show an extrapolated run rate as high as possible? That’s my guess.
