I’m much better at it now. But I used to leave a fairly long end to sew in and then snipped the extra length of it off. I feel like I’d need fat knots to not pull through the Aida holes!

I am too bosomy for men’s clothes as standard daily wear. But I did buy some non-transparent massive Tshirts for the gym a few years ago from men’s Gap.

Here’s a photo of the back of my sampler- you can see where I’ve started the thread. Ending will look the same.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what you mean by the loop method. Do you mean you take a single strand from your 6 strand thread and thread your needle then fold it in half?

When you cut your thread, measure about 30-50cm (you don’t want it too long or it’ll knot itself up). So you have a piece of thread with 6 strands. Then you can separate out two of the six so you can start work. Even with the variegated thread it will work, coz the thread is dyed as a 6 strand thing.

You don’t need to tie the thread. Knots leave bumps was what my Yiayia used to say. The back of your design should be as neat and tidy as the front.

Thanks! They’re from a stamping plate which I probably got from Born Pretty. Took a while to ge the knack of stamping, but it’s so easy and looks so impressive!

For my MA, it was all handed in electronically, including the dissertation (although I also had to get a hard copy of that) and part of the handing in process was automatically checking for plagiarism. The uni website would give you a plagiarism score when it confirmed submission.

Yep. Or my favourite ‘so where do these hyperlinked footnotes lead to?’ Oh yes. Wikipedia.

I went shopping for a couple of new tops last month. I hate clothes shopping. Almost nothing was opaque. I don’t want to wear transparent clothing at all. I don’t want layers, I don’t want to have to choose a bra based on my top. I just want clothes that are not see through.

I liked that tweet along these lines:

I moved continents. I kept the people that I liked in my life and stay in touch. The rest I bunned.

First of all, make sure your cake pop is chilled- 30 mins in the fridge or 5-10 in the freezer. Then cover them. I don’t dip them, I pour the chocolate or candy melt over them and then recycle the unused topping on the next one. I sometimes use a little mesh spatula (I can’t remember the proper name but I bought it

You’re the boss. Insist that your children ask permission in advance and don’t be afraid to (kindly) say ‘sorry, not today’

My dad had his done, straight home that afternoon. No problems at all- did all the physio he was meant to, and all his exercises at home. My uncle had his done, but did not do the exercises he was given. His has had to be done again.

The baby is now 8 weeks old and I still have a way to go...

My dad lives in N’hants, and he’s been complaining about the shit show there for years now. They’ve always boasted about how they have the lowest council tax rate in the country, but seemed to have missed the bit where you need to have money to run the county.  Fuckwits.

CAMUS?

For some of us, the favourite tea is ‘no tea at all, thanks. No coffee either. Just drink room temperature drinks like a nice Robinson’s apple and pear squash as Goddess intended.’
