Another vote for the lemon dress, I thought it looked great on her and was super cute! Not $1500 cute, but cute.

Copperhead!
I saw that article after this one, too, so it's clear she is into the music, too, and it was a good piece but it does disprove what I said. But she does seem like a well meaning Monkees fan and I do appreciate that even if she gets some of the details wrong!
I just always think it's weird when people see articles they aren't interested in, click on them, scroll down, and write a comment about how they don't care about the subject matter. And you said "no one gave a shit" which is clearly untrue. You can not give a shit all you want, of course!
I wonder if she meant confusing, in that people who associated the Monkees with harmless antics for children, saw the film and were confused because it was so freaky (and shows that iconic Vietnam footage of a man being shot in the head, over and over again.)
I was also annoyed by her lack of knowledge about their musical know how but it did seem like she was more of a fan of the show and that was the focus on the piece.
And he got booed nightly!
But now through the magic of YouTube you can watch the Roscoe's video whenever you so desire (which I weirdly desire fairly often.) The chicken and waffles were really quite good, too! Yo, friends, check this out!
Same. And it's sad when anyone dies. But when I was a youngster and very obsessed with the Monkees and I couldn't deal with a little dude who I didn't think was cute getting all the ladies all the while not playing any instruments other than like 5 maracas at a time. In hindsight, I can see he was just as funny as the…
I'm sure you will now notice that there are tons of comments on this article and still plenty of people who give a shit about the Monkees, who were relevant to both TV and music history and have a new album out (so it's not totally random to be discussing them.)
33 1/3 is so weird I almost like better than Head. I really like the 50's rock n' roll jam and the Listen to the Band performance is great. The creation of the world interpretive dance was…something.
I saw them during that tour as well….and it never occurred to me that Mickey didn't play drums! I kind of wish I'd seen them with Mike, Peter and Mickey toured last year but I just decided to see Mike's solo show he did while he was here, instead.
He did do a solo tour recently which was very interesting, very little Monkees related stuff. I think he's basically kind of a dick who enjoys the benefits of his Monkees-derived success but doesn't want to give it as much lip service as the others (probably because he sees himself as a serious artist…which I'd agree…
OOh I didn't know there were juicy updates in the latest version. Can you share some more info- were his managers just obnoxious? It always seemed alluded to that Mike and Davy didn't really get along but you'd think men in their 70's (with the same birthday, even) would be able to get over it.
I was going to make that same point. I don't think anyone really cares anymore about pop music authenticity, especially when most pop songs are written by 30 people and use lots of studio trickery. But at the time, I think the idea was that they were getting hits sounding like the "real" bands at the time, who came…
I always was Team John when the Beatles came up (because gross, Paul is just cutesey and love songs!) and so naturally Mike was my favorite Monkee (and I got DEEP into some Monkee love when I was 13 myself, 20 years ago.) He just seemed a little too smart to be normal. And those sideburns!
I really find her to be the worst. But I agree with her point here- I spent my whole life being afraid of even attempting playing music because I have no natural talent at it. But I recently YouTube taught myself how to kind of play drums. And it's super fun and feels very gratifying to have learned something and to…
I only watched Tapeheads due to my love of Nesmith but it's very ingrained in my life. I visited LA for the first time recently and was very enthused to finally eat at Roscoe's and did all I could to not sing Roscoe's Rap the entire time. Also, coincidentally, the only celebrity siting I had in LA was Tim Robbins!
It's pretty obscene to exclude Fairy Tale, my favorite of all time.
I can't even pretend like I have an average exposure to Monkees related information, since I follow lots of Monkees-related social media (Tumblr fandom is alive and well, even before the recent album and "tour" of two members.) But yeah, it's weird they didn't mention the new album since that's what has them in the…
