I agree, the ending was delightful. My husband -who hasn't watched the show and was just passing by while it was on was like "and you enjoy this show?" and I was like it's hard to explain but this goofy shit is actually really poignant!

I think the murkiness is on purpose though because that does actually reflect real life, there are times when the rubber meets the road sexually that consent does not happen as enthusiastically as it should. I don't think it's presented a a good thing- not only does he crash but Hannah is portrayed as a shitty selfish

Nope. Fran dismissed her feelings about the pictures of his exes and was condescending to her about her work, both rude. He was not a nice guy, I think he enjoyed how odd Hannah was at first but then stayed with her because he got some pleasure out of constantly being the one in the right and getting to scold her.

Yeah, there's a pretty big difference between infants and the older kids she half-assedly nannied and selling expensive kid's clothes.

I think that people can be pretty varied in terms of how much their exes are off limits and really all that should matter is how the particular friend feels. If they still have some complicated feelings about their ex (as Hannah almost certainly does) Jessa could have easily anticipated that which is why is was wrong.

I wrote this somewhere upthread but I think he stayed with her because he was on one hand titilated by Hannah's DGAF attitude since he's pretty uptight but then also kind of got enjoyment from constantly getting to correct her, making him feel superior. I don't think he ever really cared about her or was trying to

Hannah is an idiot and all but Fran was awful too and she is well rid of him and he well rid of her her. The only rationale for Fran being with Hannah I can really imagine is that at first he liked that she was a lot less uptight than he was but that stuck around because he gets off on getting to constantly scold her

I did not, too lazy.

That's a good point! I kept thinking "I like You're the Worst but I maybe like Catastrophe better but I don't think they're the same kind of show" but that's because Catastrophe is like Married…I enjoy Catastrophe more than Married because I just think it's funnier and a little less grim and I just like the leads more

I have thin friends who've had similar issues so I should have known better. Yoyo dieting is something people refer to in English but I've never heard the "gain more back after you lose" situation called a yo yo effect but we should because that's a catchy way to say it!

I was just watching Hulu and one of the commercials was for laundry detergent and it's these women watching a school choir performance and one asks the other "which one is yours?" and she says "the one in white." The joke is that all the kids are wearing white polo shirts but her child's is very bright white while the

I should have said some bodies resist weight loss more than others; I was being just as bratty as the people who say all bodies respond to "calories in/calories out" exactly the same. I was actually referring to a study of people who are overweight, lose weight, and regain more than they lost because of a biological

Well isn't it nice you can make such proclamations when you know there is no way to force Rebel Wilson into doing a fitness competition with you. Plenty of thin people are not fit and live very unhealthily. I'm glad you're happy at your size and fitness level but "fit' does not exclude fat.

I'm a woman and am conflicted about breastaurants. On one hand, it's a way a woman can make more money doing the same job as any other restaurant but get much bigger tips (at the personal expense of getting flirted with/creeped on all day.) On the other hand, why is that fields where women have to be objectified to

It varies so I just chose the smallest size I've seen it start (for example, I believe that Torrid's sizing starts at 12, or at least it used to.) It's arbitrary in the so much women's clothing sizing is but I was just saying that being a size 6 (even a generous Old Navy size 6) when most actresses are a size 4 does

Mufasa retired to pursue a life of casual lion sex, obviously

IT'S TRASH!

Their beard games are on point.

You do not know her health. Obese is based on the outmoded, useless BMI standards created by insurance companies. Westerners are dying of many ailments that are common in the obese but the link, as I've been reading, seems to be more that behaviors that lead many people to be overweight are the behaviors causing the

I do think there is a difference between body shaming and pointing out that Calista Flockhart - it seemed, at least the time- was losing a lot of weight to be on the show. Not just that she is naturally thin but that she was getting thinner due to some kind of pressure (and she has admitted to being anorexic since.) I
