Have you guys been paying attention to the Ani DiFranco flap on Twitter? It's just...ugh.

The whole "No one should be silenced, not even bigots" argument is such a coward's way out attempt to endorse bigotry without REALLY endorsing it. If you hate gays just man up and say it, don't use this faux-intellectual argument to do so.

I didn't insult you at all. I just pointed out why the caveats were unnecessary.
That black twitter list is woefully incomplete.
And I never claimed otherwise, which makes your comment a strawman argument. You on the other hand have accused me multiple times of calling all every woman that makes a rape accusation a liar, which I never actually said.
This is one of my main problems with people who are on a crusade against this guy. They have a tendency to omit facts and/or add in details to the story. Extremely disturbing.
Yes and like I said, national media has ignored that history in favor of creating a conspiracy narrative.
What I meant was, saying that circumstances exist that make black men more susceptible to false accusations does not equal saying that all women that make rape accusations are liars.
I said nothing about women being liars, I mentioned scenarios that make black men more susceptible to being falsely accused, thus making assuming their guilt in every accusation extremely problematic.
"Because he is a monster. As are you.."
Which is my entire point. Essentially following this guy around the internet and pointing at him and saying "He was accused of rape once!" is so unfair.
Yup
We'll keep in mind, it was only a little more than 10 years later and parts of this country are VERY slow to change.
Two off the top of my head. One just months ago. FSU players have also been prosecuted for other crimes throughout the years. There's no history of favoritism there, which national writers have been ignoring.
The painting of TPD and the local DA as being in FSU football's pocket isn't based in reality. They have a history of pursuing sexual assault charges against FSU football players, actually.
You're punishing him for the police department's fuck up then? And the extent of their fuck up isn't a consensus either if you've been paying close attention to this case.
No, not all white people were against welfare but the people against welfare are mostly white. As such, I addressed white Americans specifically. Pretending like this covers a cross-section of Americans is patently dishonest.
"Jameis Winston, the Florida State quarterback whose rape charges were dropped after a delayed investigation"
Reagan's a piece of shit for sure but it's important to note that his campaign just capitalized on feelings that white Americans already harbored post-civil rights. They succumbed to the archetype because they already believed these things about blacks after the fall of Jim Crow. Blame the politicians for their part…
