But he seemed like such a nice guy in the flashbacks when he first started at prison. If he was a pure sadistic psychopath then, he sure hid it well (and so did the show).

I guess I'm the only person who liked the Linda from Purchasing flashbacks. I thought the purpose was to show what a conniving, uncaring, lying, opportunistic, Machiavellian bitch she is. Remember when Alex asked what the worst thing she's ever done was? And she said she was a pretty good girl, but did forge an ID

This is the problem with shows in the US. They are milked long past after they are good, till they are dead and jump the shark. Have 4 good seasons? Milk another 4 out of that cash cow!! There is a long standing history of this in American TV. The Andy Griffith show is a great example from the old days. When Don

But we don't know why.

EXACTLY.

The flashback made it less clear to me why Piscatella is the way he is. The idea that he was actually a nice guy, and somehow JUST those events turned him into a pure sadistic psychopath, doesn't make sense. If you're gonna do a flashback, make it mean something and make the character more understandable and well

That's why, as much as I like this show, it will never compare to something like Better Call Saul where so much care is taken to tell the story right.

Red should have been bleeding PROFUSELY from those head wounds — nothing bleeds like a head wound, even a tiny superficial one — and there was literally not even one drop of blood!

Not true, we saw him visiting, then later saying he would not bring the baby to visit anymore in prior seasons.

YES

Yes, so agree with all your points. I found Red's getting addicted to speed plotline particularly unbelievable.

I think it was mostly how she wasn't afraid of him and stood up to him. I agree this was not well articulated at all.

In the last season there was an entire plot line of those houses being fixed up for the guards to live in, and many, many scenes that took place there. Maritza was forced to eat a baby mouse by Humps in his quarters, for instance, and she was also making drug drops shuttling the guards home after their shifts.

Completely agree. In fact the flashback is super confusing. You're asking me to believe Piscatella was a nice, loving human being until this happened? No way, the show's been writing this character as a sadistic psychopath, which happens because of childhood, not because of some bad shit that happened well into

Agree, he totally sounded like Chuck!

His motto is "Beat all the things"

When I called the number just now, it's Saul Goodman Productions, not Francesca! They must have changed the message a little bit late!

It seemed to me it was anxiety from the experience he'd just gone through. He's extremely paranoid about law enforcement, felt horrible about ratting the kid out, and then acted sorta crazy in front of the authorities. He was freaking out and having a panic attack and that's how it manifested.

He did it to fluster Chuck — it was part of the prodding (like bringing in Rebecca) to make him break down into a crazy rant. That's why it was actually brilliant. We as the audience are supposed to be disappointed in the moment that we see Jimmy doing it - and I was - but it was all part of the plan.

I read it as he was anxious about any contact with law enforcement, he felt terrible about dropping the dime on the kid, and also felt worried about having drawn attention to himself by shouting for the kid to get a lawyer. The stress/depression/anxiety of living this horrible life undercover finally culminated in him
