Reading the tweets about this seriously made me cry. And it’s not even my period. It’s just so fucking beautiful. Way to go, Ireland.
So all I could do is suck it up and throw back too many of the $9 drinks (WTF??!!!!).
Yeah. I had a host family when I studied abroad, and it was 7 kids. WHY they signed up for ANOTHER one who didn’t even speak the language is still to this day beyond me. But made me think it was some weird status thing for them - like, “oh jah, well, you know we have seven already, what is one more? Ah ha ha ha.”
Hahaha he hated him even after the guy rescued him for a boat mishap!? That’s such dedication.

I got him to sign a book for my sister when I went to a reading of his (we’re both huge fans) and he wrote in her book “You have a nice sister.”

I work with survivors of sexual assault in ERs and get to interact with cops taking their statements all the time. I’ve seen it all, including some really incredible, wonderful cops (both male and female) who believe…
There are dozens of reasons a person wouldn’t go to the police first. It’s not that easy. You can find some great examples of why women might not just walk on down to the police station to report their rape right here on this very website. I highly suggest looking into it.
I think it’s so especially brave that you out yourself when men are doubting Emma in your vicinity. It shouldn’t be a thing where men have to know someone personally who went through it, to have it right in their face, looking them in the eyes saying “this is what happened to me. Do you think I’m lying?” for them to…
Looooove the Velvet Elvis song! Also Sister Wife. So great. I love that she’s not just conforming to the young woman doing pop mold.
:( :( :(
Yeah I KNOW I should do that I just...haven’t yet. I work for a nice non-profit where I am pretty sure I don’t have to worry about stuff like this, but when I transition to a new job this summer I’m gonna set it all up to be separate. Cause yeah this is scary, and I really should keep work and life separate, for all…
That’s so terrifying because think of the logistics of moving forward!!! If I was suddenly fired and locked out of my work email with zero notice, I’d be so fucked. All the professional connections I’d hope to stay in touch with (their contact info), my calendar (I put personal things on my work calendar because why…
