Great, a guy that doesn’t get Thing 1 about currency replying to a guy that can’t be bothered to google Thing 1 about cryptocurrency. This will end intelligently for all of us.

Nah, birds are WAY closer to dinosaurs than we are to fish. ;-) A better debate would be whether or not dinosaurs should ever have been classed as reptiles in the first place....

Now playing

Paris, Texas was a fucking wonder, and he was so great in it. Walking down one side of the street while his kid walks down the other side has stuck with me for years.

“Do you know how fish have sex?”

no, this is:

No... I put this in another thread:

I am Mexican, Day of the Dead is my favorite tradition and.. I think pixar is reflecting it very well, is about family, love and loss (and food). I don´t get tired to see it because is one of the most beautiful things México has to offer to the world and includes, food, color, magic, and our very special relationship

Some corners of Tumblr can get a little heavy on theory in my experience. One example I came across was that yes, in theory I could see the benefit to trans individuals in not assigning any gender at all at birth and letting the child decide without preconceptions, but man, that is not exactly practical or realistic

As a Mexican Latina (cause as someone else said, día de muertos is a mainly mexican thing) I don’t feel very conflicted about it - just a wee bit. Día de muertos has become super recognisable because it’s not openly national (so no Mexican flags, for instance), which makes it feel more open to everyone.

So much has already been said in response to your thoughtful question, but I’d like to add that I’m always going to be happy that something like this exists rather than not, meaning that given the largely contemptuous attitude that many in the U.S. have shown Mexicans and Mexican-Americans/Latinxs/Chicanxs, any

They most certainly aren’t! Well, shit, that’s what I get for listening to intersectional tumblr :(

Day of the Dead is a Mexican only holiday, no other latin american country has a similar holiday that is not Halloween.

Here’s my take not only as a latino but as a mexican, and no half mexican or anything, born and while i was born and raised in mexico city, all my family come from the south of mexico and west all from very small towns, that have been denominated “pueblos magicos” or magic towns as they preserve the culture and

Mexican “culture” is so diverse and has so many roots from so many places, that it would be difficult to define it with a single “thing” so I’m ok with the Día de los Muertos (DDLM) as synonym of Mexican culture. And Pixar seems to have done their homework and actually investigated themes and looks, so they get a

There is a ton of people crying and complaining about representation and not getting it. Then you get Pixar to make a movie that centers around (Mexican, Guatemalan) culture and treat them like they would any other story...you know with equality and that is supposed to be a bad thing. Pixar has always told great

As a South American, I dislike the whole “Latinx” thing. I think it’s mostly some kind of white, caucasian guilt or something. Most trans people here, or hetero or whatever just choose whatever they want and that’s it. And, there’s nothing wrong about showing Día de los Muertos. It is a beautiful tradition, but

Spoilers! The relationship continues to be super abusive, and the lead characters continue to be awful. Now with a baby at the end, to reinforce a bit of heterosexual domesticity and balance out all that naughty hardcore XXX spanking.

Problem with the Bran theory: The Night King and the first Other created by the Children of the Forest are not the same person. The Long Night (which happened, obviously, after the creation of the Others) ended with the creation of the Night’s Watch. The Night King is the 13th Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch

And it removed the STD parallel and opens the show up for zombie/human sex, which means Clive and Dale could stay together now that she’s been infected. So I hope that happens, because seriously, Clive could use a win.

I was surprised. It isn’t often that shows are willing to upset their own status quo that much in such an irrevocable manner.
