I recommend Lindisfarne (Holy Island) off the Northumberland coast. There’s a reason the monks went to live there in the dark ages. Pure spiritual peace.

I’ve probably seen more of England and Scotland than I have the US (my motherland), we’ve been to the North and South coast of Cornwall, Windermere, Haworth, Glasgow, and Ft. William, but I would love to check out more of the Northeast, thanks for the great ideas!
