In both instances, the audience is a group of people she is teaching, i.e. a professional environment where she is expected to dress a certain way and act a certain way - a way that she wouldn’t necessarily act if she was out drinking with her friends.

Her damn job was to teach future kindergarten teachers. Learning to keep a lid on your emotions when dealing with kindergarteners is a pretty basic skill that she’s supposed to know and teach. Therefore it IS relevant that she can’t control her words, or has no interest in doing so.
