“We enjoy watching our characters suffer through pain, loss and hardship. We revel in it. “
You say this as if I’m asking for queer folks to never be touched or suffer harm in games. That the kid gloves should remain on and our stories be precious fluff. I hear variations of this argument a lot, like when I wrote about David Cage’s treatment of woman. That’s certainly not the case; many of the stories I’ve…
To me DLC should be like “Wow, people really enjoyed our game. Let’s spend some time and make some more content for them so they can continue to enjoy it a while longer for a reasonable price.”
I believe it is. The brutality and intensity is completely necessary for the kind of game they’re making. If you’re horrified and bothered by the violence it means they’re doing their jobs right.
The game’s gore is realistic because it is not supposed to be pleasant. It is not supposed to be a cool Mortal Kombat experience. It is supposed to make you feel uneasy and dehumanized. That is entirely the point. Most games make killing feel too clean and painless. Last of Us excelled at making each kill feel like a…
I’m still going to play this game and I’m probably going to have a grand old time fighting Mothman and freako frogs with my pals. I just think this nuke this is a bit weird. Like somewhere along the line, Bethesda forgot Fallout was also a satirical series.
YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING WHORE MOUTH
In all seriousness, after the wild and continuing success of Skyrim, I can’t imagine they’d make this shit multiplayer. They already have a multiplayer ES game — they’re not gonna do that to their main franchise. At worst, maybe it’s optional co-op or something, but I can’t even see…
So it’s an MMO? Was Destiny really that fucking fabulous? I mean I have read nothing but bitching and moaning about that game for literally years now, but everyone needs to make a clone FFS? How much money does Cyberpunk have to make to get these fuckers to make a couple more games like CD Project Red?
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. He did not specifically say single player.
Why did they bother announcing this if they had no footage of the game?
Singleplayer Star Wars at last?
I find it baffling that EA didn’t bring a single trailer or even a screenshot of either Fallen Order or the Clone Wars stuff for Battlefront. Fallen Order especially was the most low key announcement I’ve ever seen for a Star Wars game.
It wasn’t that I couldn’t fight my way through, it was that my map marker kept sending me in circles and I wasn’t able to find a way to get where it wanted me to go. I remember being incredibly frustrated at the time and poring through walkthrough guides to try to see where I had gone wrong, but it seemed to be a…
In my estimation, New Vegas might be the best video game ever made. It certainly has some of the best writing in video games.
I also stick up for Fallout 3 whenever I can. As you say, the characters and writing are lackluster. But the environmental design - from the landscape of the world map down to the details of each individual ruin - is fantastic.
I give Fallout 3's story credit for simplicity and straight-forwardness. Find your dad. Bring clean water to the Wasteland. That’s it - nothing grander, no epic struggle for control, no shocking twists. Just some clear goals that are easy to understand.
New episodes are out. I haven’t watched them all to see if it’s the end, but I believe this is the final 4. Where’s the review? 📺
No new review? : (
The song Marceline sings was written by Babeo Baggins. Here is the demo.
