This a thousand times this. I’m in aerospace manufacturing (contract machining), and this stuff is pretty well baked in even at our level. It’s becoming shockingly clear that Tesla is still figuring out the whole manufacturing thing.

I agree, i dont really consider Hawaii part of N. America, however, do you really think many bombs are left?

Too easy access to what he did not need and what he did need he cannot get, not in the states anyway.

Sorry, this is America, a wretched, failing empire. Healthcare, here, is a privilage not a right, so... mental health care is only for the wealthy. Gun ownership is the basis of True ‘Merican Culture, and no amount of sanity will ever change that.

Well, just have a look in the BMW i3 rescue guideline:

As a former firefighter, I can tell you that it’s very VERY important to cut the power on any vehicle involved in an accident. 100% of vehicles that have had significant damage require their power sources to be disconnected.

Any accident where a passenger is stuck in the car, they will usually start cutting, or using the jaws to rip the door open. When they do this they wan’t power to be disconnected so that they don’t electrocute themselves.

The hyperbolic character of his assessment leads me to wonder how long he’s been familiar with mechanical engineering

Dunno about the i3, but I do remember being in a parking lot that had an EV charging station, and some dude with a Leaf came up and asked me to give him a jump because his battery had died, so he couldn’t get the battery charger door open to plug the car in. That struck me as an appallingly stupid design.

If there is a situation that requires cutting the power, would you want to have to go through the BS design this car has to get to that cable? Poor design not having a mechanical release.

“Autopilot is intended for use only with a fully attentive driver,” a Tesla spokesperson said.

Okay, I can understand the cameras and sensors not seeing a white trailer against a low sun in the sky... BUT A FLIPPIN FIRE TRUCK?

What is he supposed to do when a journalist asks him a question about it? Say “No comment”?

With all 4 tires of the Tesla spinning the whole time, you’ll pardon me if I don’t exactly believe the semi was getting much help...

right, so Tesla has so much going for it that in 100k+ segment piece of trim that falls off is no biggie. I get it now. Thank you for saving me from being confused.

if you had Mercedes with these issues you would have it ritually scrapped. But with Tesla...you still love it.
