@timgray: Good advice. But remember to include some sweeteners. White/brown sugar, perhaps some real maple syrup, and some saccharine tablets will go a long way towards making that oatmeal palatable. Especially for the kids. Some cinnamon is good to have, too. It masks the flavor of bad coffee or tea.
@timgray: If a person is serious, then they've already pre-positioned caches of ammunition and edibles elsewhere. What goes in the bag is cash, maintenance medicines, something to smoke (dealer's choice), bullets, and a couple quarts of water.

Regarding the T-Mobile G2 (HTC Vision), the xda-developer wiki has perfect instructions. AFAIK, 1.72 hasn't been pushed out to any G2s yet. I cannot speak to its use on the Desire/Z version of the phone.
If the waste can't be re-processed into pebble bed reactors, then they should consider putting it in deep oceanic subduction areas where it will be carried under the mantle.
