@trs: I’m fairly sure any objective observer would agree. I’m definitely thinking the subtext of this ad is: "Hello, you can have phone that looks similar to an iPhone but doesn’t drop signal."
I agree this is a subtle dig at Apple, but it’s undermined by the fact the S bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain Apple-branded communications device, albeit an earlier model.
@MayorBloomberg: Maybe Giz editors feel they have nothing to lose now?
@Xacor: But you're prepared to pay for his roads and defence?
@arebelyankee: True. As you point out, some people seem to welcome "services" like that described here.
This might just be me, but a big part of why I don’t want an Android phone is it forces you into this green, smiley Brave New World envisioned by Google.
@Odin: No it’s not. The method you use is largely irrelevant in determining whether someone was murdered. It’s about intention.
Don’t shoot it like that… shooting your iPhone 4 in the bottom left hand corner with a sniper rifle may affect reception.
Don't lots of phone manuals tell you not to hold the handset in a particular way, or block certain parts of it?
@quayzar: Actually, in British English there has always been a space in per cent. Kat is English and I get the impression Giz, quite rightly, doesn’t have a style guide.
I'd guess they used one of these:
Getting a phone on 3 in the UK is only slightly more useful than tying two cups together with string… or drawing pictures and shouting.
