I think the messaging needs to change for some of these older feminists.

Does that matter? It’s no secret that everything she does is carefully calculated. But she chose to turn attention to these issues and put out an anthem for Black women — whether it’s manufactured or not makes it no less incredible.

Apparently the filmmakers sold the rights to Sundance. Bey bought the rights to use the clips it Sundance.

Wait, so you DO get it, but you DON’T like it, even though getting it and liking it are the same thing? How does that work?

Kendrick does black empowerment his way; Beyoncé does black empowerment her way. Neither approach is wrong and I appreciate that black artists are becoming more vocal about what’s going on in their community instead of keeping mum for the sake of pacifying their white audiences.

No, I said if you don’t “get it,” not if you don’t “like” it. Two completely fucking different things. There’s lots of things that I don’t get but I like; there’s lots of things I don’t like but I get.

Where exactly is the delineation mark between black gay men and black straight women in terms of cultural qs? I say this because behind most black gay men is a black woman who reared him and sheltered him. Black men didn’t just pop out of the ether with all that sassiness and slang. More than likely they got it from

No... you should be voting for Hillary because by every objective measure she is viable and competent. I love Bernie too but he couldn’t lead his way out of a wet paper bag. Great heart though.

Women’s issues? Hypocrites like you can’t even call yourselves “single issue voters”. She supports a drone program that’s killed hundreds of thousands of women, and she will continue to support that program and kill women, and people of other races, in her bid to spread American imperialism and capitalist interests. Um, lyrics wise I don’t see the social justice and politics aspect. (See lyrics below.) Other than the opening about New Orleans, the entire song seems to be about herself. Unless I’m missing something?

And here I was coming to post a comment that women who support Bernie are not traitors or against feminists or whatever, because it’s a personal choice. And I’m a Hillary support. But gee whiz thanks so much for categorizing me ahead of time.

Completely typical, yet not OTT enough for Bulwer-Lytton, so it isn’t particularly funny. I think the thing to do is to just look at the pictures.

It just goes on and one like that. The writer must have gotten paid by the word with a bonus for adjectives.

Watching now. This is O’Malley’s best debate. Hands down.

Oh good. I see we’re well on the way to an edifying conversation of mutual respect and [smashes wine bottle, brandishes jagged neck, licks blood off lips]

Bernie supporter here. I’ve noticed a lot of fellow supporters treat the smallest perceived slight as the biggest personal insult they’ve ever heard. Some of em are downright paranoid. Honest policy questions are sometimes met with hostility. That shit needs to change.

I’m definitely Feeling The Bern but you make a lot of edifying points.

Being a sore loser and not conceding when he loses, shit talking the organizations when he doesn’t get their endorsements, stealing campaign data, whining about the establishment when he almost exclusively gets positive press and now constantly changing the conditions after agreeing to them - it’s Bernie’s world

I would like examples of this being done for any other notorious criminal who was not a cop. If there are none, it’s special treatment, period.
