Realistically, they wouldn't have to code for touch. There are games on Xbox that don't use Kinect. There are games on Blackberry Torches that don't use touch. The pane in the Metro interface could be as simple as a the splash graphic you get when starting up any old game as well...

people always forget that on desktops Win8 has a "classic" mode that is essentially Win7.
