I've been interpreting the girl with the yellow dress in the theater as just a miscommunication, not a creature sighting. The guy's jumpy and he freaks out.

I love the part when Nicole Kidman's character describes something as "macabre." I think that's the only time I've ever heard that word used in speech, rather than in writing.
