You know, I liked Babadook as a movie, but not as a horror movie.

I haven't gone to our company picnic, which is always held at a local lake where you can swim, because I'm terrified of seeing my coworkers shirtless.

Everything I know about cooking I learned from "What Would Brian Boitano Make."

Ugh…that sounds terrible. I hope to do whatever I can to avoid that in the future…

She quotes from The Idiot a couple times in the movie. The part in the hospital, she's reading about how horrible it is to be sentenced to death, not just knowing that you're going to die, but knowing when you're going to die, and counting down the time until you cease to be a person. I love the juxtaposition of the

People eat snails! How much different can a slug be?

No! I'm not prepared at all!!!!

One of my fellow clarinetists in college used a neck strap. Even with the pain I get from playing, I've been resistant to the idea of trying one out. I mean, if I have to choose between playing with a neck strap or not playing at all, I'll use a neck strap. I'm very mulish when it comes to changing anything about

You had a summer squash for dinner, or a slug?

I guess having stuff going on in my life is good news, though I'm pretty damn worn out right now and I have the rest of the week to get through. Saw Glen David Andrews play in Harrisburg last night, which was a lot of fun, and I'm glad my boyfriend dragged me out of the house to go see it. Have a rehearsal tomorrow

I think my issue is that I work on a computer all day, play XBox obsessively on the weekends, and play clarinet, which is actually rather brutal on the right thumb as that's where the weight of the instrument rests. I was freaking out on Monday night, because I have a gig this Friday and I was worried I was going to

Why would anyone ever have cause to explicitly state something like that? Who even thinks in those terms?

How does one go about making that official?

I'll have to look into that. Once I stopped to consider it, I realize I really put an enormous amount of strain on that whole area.

On Monday night, the thumb muscle in my right hand started seizing and cramping like mad. It was so bad that my hand was almost entirely useless for 24 hours. Hoping that's just a one time thing there…

Not that it's heavy reading, but I started Konmari Kondo's book about tidying up. It's sort of fascinating in that it starts to reveal all the impacts "stuff" has on us. It seems such a weird thing, but it paralyzes so many people.
To counter that, I started reading The Idiot, mostly because I just love that scene

I don't think that the book is inappropriate for middle schoolers, but I don't think most middle schoolers have the mental and emotional capacity to actually appreciate the story. Including myself. I have a lasting visceral hatred for that book.

You and the point pass like two ships in the night.

Perhaps this is catastrophic thinking, but I feel like the backlash she's going to receive is going to be on par with Gamergate.

I can't really express how much admiration I have for her for doing this. I am, however, legitimately worried for her regarding the massive, bat-shit insane backlash she's going to get for it.
