I'm 31, not huge into clubbing. Though, Speedy Ortiz is playing while we're up there, so we'll probably go see him.

I can speak French okay-like, but I have a rough time with the French-Canadian accent.

I'm sorry. Is there any way you can start your job search in tiny baby steps, instead of trying to muster up the will to take it on all at once?

Her front hoof? What kind of pet are we talking about here…?
In any case, I hope she gets well soon.

I got mono in college. I think the only reason I even got symptoms was because my immune system was destroyed from a series of brutal anxiety attacks that prevented me from eating and sleeping for days at a time. Anyway, it presented kind of weird, just being dizzy and nauseous. My doctor was like, well, you're

Heading to Canada on vacation next week. Really, really need to get away, but right now I'm really stressed about getting everything ready at work and at home for the trip.

MONTREAL THREAD
I'm headed to Montreal and Quebec City for vacation next week. Any AVClubbers have suggestions as to what to do / see while I'm there?

I was just wondering the other day if Outkast is even on the radar of today's high school students.

Has anyone ever gotten the impression that this Sully fellow is uncomfortable with all the hero praise he has received?

I get what you're saying. I think Laverne Cox also gets what you're saying, and alludes to it in what she wrote. As a woman, I look at those covers, and I'm glad for them, but part of me is also slightly bothered that both have adopted a (culturally) ultra feminine image. For me, it raises a lot of questions and

It's not even that, necessarily. It's more her reaction, or lack of, that bothers me. That's probably unfair of me. It's not like I've been monitoring her since the accident and can conclusively say that it had minimal emotional impact on her.

When I was young'un, we had a plastic tub of old books in our basement which included some grocery store romance novels. (This was in AOL dialup days. I really had no access to internet porn.) Anyway, I never read any of the novels the whole way through, I'd just skim them for the naughty parts.

What happened with the review she was doing of the One Direction fanfic? I was really enjoying her posts on that, and then they just sort of stopped.

As a fanfic enthusiast (I'm not proud), I freaking hate when people rewrite their fanfics to be told from the other romantic lead's perspective. Because they always suck, even by fanfic standards.

Excuse you, it's Caitlyn. With a C, not a K.

If I caused an accident that killed someone and hurt several others, I'd be an emotional wreck. I'd probably be a wreck even if it wasn't my fault. It just seemed like everyone treated this like a fender bender. I find it a bit bizarre, honestly.

I think it's a fair criticism. This book is basically about the spectacle of the ultra rich. If it's approached entirely through an anthropological lens, the author's background shouldn't matter. The reviewer, however, makes it sound like the author sometimes strays from that viewpoint, and her own ultra rich

"Now don't get upset…" - the CEO of the company I used to work for after he'd be a complete and utter dick to me and see that I was getting pissed off at him.

When I play games, I like to get really wrapped up in them. So, for me, huge open worlds are awesome.

Christians really have it rough in this country. They can't even molest their own sisters, have it covered up by their parents and the police, and have the record remained sealed for the rest of their lives.
