I can assure you, you can very well hear the difference. Try a real hifi setup, put an mp3, then put a cd. You'll even see the difference for how obvious it is

we like in a faker world everyday... mp3 sucks.. i can imagine how a compressed mp3 file will sound after a filter to ruin even more the dynamics... at least use FLAC
