Those guys who voted for our current president also drive really big ass trucks that will crush my sad little car like a grape if they are busy reading Trump’s latest tweet.  So, I guess I’m just gonna have to risk leaving the house and have some faith in humanity.

Yeah, that is pretty clear to anyone who rides a bike. The point was that cars are more dangerous that bikes. The fact that I can kill myself by running into a car/tree/ground/errant walnut on my bike doesn’t equalize them.

Sigh.  Whataboutism at it’s best!

Sure you can kill yourself.  But that doesn’t make the bike dangerous to the car.

Cyclists are not out to prove a point to you. Folks forget that the vast majority of cyclists also drive. We fully understand things from the driver’s perspective. We live it.

Sweet, the Knicks got Zion Williamson without the hops!

I dunno.. Exercize? Save gas? Look good in tight shorts? Really doesn’t matter. And since pedestrians are even smaller, harder to see, and rarely wear lights, they are even more at risk when stepping out into the realm of the car.

I’m sure this magazine, and England, showed nothing but measured hubris in the run up to England men’s team’s 4th place finish last year.

Since we’re generalizing to all cyclists and car drivers.... let’s remember that when a car driver does stupid shit to a cyclist, cyclist gets killed. When a cyclist does stupid shit to a car, maybe a dent.

I’m not familiar with avoiding bees by laying on the ground... is this a widespread tactic that I just missed?  Does it work?

Ivanka at Last Supper: Pass the Pinot, Pontius!

Now, if he were Muslim, he’d get the triple crown of heads exploding on the country music scene!

The Japan handball was against a player with her arms straight out.  Not like the US handball at all.  And the offsides on the Heath goal was about as marginal as it comes, so I don’t think France gets to play the “unfair ref” card.  I think the ref did pretty well.

This takes a perfectly fair discussion about setting up a relegation league (which can already be supported with the G-leagues) and makes it stupid by adding geography and somehow making it the west-coast teams fault for being in a later time zone?  Pretty weak attempt.

“Distracting the opponent” applies to a gesture or movement and needs to be reasonable close to the play (Slide 17). Since Lloyd is behind the play, I’m not sure how she is making a gesture or movement that distracts the defender. They provide the specific definitions so that broader interpretations of “distraction”

I nominate this guy to replace the science writers at the WaPo, NYT, and Newsweek. Thank you for the proper context on some very preliminary findings.

Not having FIFA rules memorized, I also looked at the slides posted by chicity (thanks for the reference).

German Choir Con would be top of my Liszt!
