Really? More authentic than the original pose?

Honestly, I didn’t see anything wrong with the first pose, as I thought it meshed well with the character. This one nice as well, but if it’s meant to be a held pose, doesn’t make much sense. (If I would have done this design, I would have gone with a pose similar to the original, with both feet on the ground, but…

Yeah, but big shirtless guys with muscles are a “power fantasy” for men, not an unrealistic standard of beauty. See, when a man sees another man portrayed as a sex object, it vicariously fulfills their inner desire of being objectified.

Okay wait, the first pose was removed because someone’s complained that it sexualized what was supposed to be “a strong female role model”.

I’m laughing hard at the false justification going on that this is any better than the old pose. If anything its worse.

Slightly more seriously, I never really had a strong reaction either way. I thought it was stupid because it seemed they caved to a ridiculous reaction and it was dumb the extent people reacted for it.

This new pose is blatantly sexist. Just because she’s female she’s got to have a girly pose like that? There’s no way they’d put a male character in that pose but it’s somehow alright because she’s a woman? Ugh.

I observed A LOT of butts and violence while I was watching the Widowmaker short film. So I’m confused at what message Blizzard is trying to convey here.

Somewhere at Blizzard there’s a few animators who either A) already had this animation sitting around and had the designers change a line in the settings or B) figured “Why are we pandering to this bullshit” and figured they’d have fun with it anyways.

It went from: “I hope you like my butt, since that’s all you’ll see when I leave you in the dust.”
