I enjoyed how Trump undermined every ass-saving Pence lie in real time.

After his horrible week, Trump desperately needed a gamechanger. Pence’s performance in the VP debate was not it.

Agreed. Even if Trump loses, he’s still got the GOP by the nads because he controls their base. Anyone who wants to run in 2020 will be forced to beg for his endorsement and you can be sure he’ll make those fuckers dance.

Yeah, normal human exasperation in reaction to obvious lies is penalized hard in political debates. According to some of his staffers, Obama had a hard time during that first debate because he was so annoyed by Mitt’s lies. I think there was a little bit of that with Kaine tonight.

I think Kaine’s aggression was strategic. A few people on Twitter pointed out last night that he sacrificed his own likability in order to carry out the Clinton campaign’s objective: remind viewers of what a tremendous dick Trump is. That’s why he kept quoting Trump’s hateful remarks toward women, minorities, and

Pence clearly thinks of himself as the second coming of Reagan. He aped his mannerisms all night and even used the famous, “there you go again” line....right after upbraiding Kaine for deploying canned applause lines.

Yeah, I was wondering who the hell Pence thinks his running mate is because the guy he was referring to last night was NOT Donald Trump. I actually laughed out loud when Pence mocked Don’s BFF Putin.

Yeah, I’m not surprised which side Hamilton came down on.

That insane reasoning that fame requires giving up privacy is exactly why Gawker was sued into bankruptcy. Being a celebrity doesn’t entitle the public to know every last detail about you.

I do agree with you.

But Ferrante isn’t a celebrity. The woman behind the name chose to remain unknown. That’s the whole reason why she published under a pseudonym!

I recently started to be more active on Twitter and soon realized that a LOT of stories start out as trending topics there. The Ferrante reveal and reactions to the reveal have been making the rounds there for the past few weeks.

You’re begging the question. Journalists routinely pick and choose what they publish. They conceal the identities of sources. They hype certain stories with banner headlines and bury others on A-14.

Those kids know what they did.

I know many people find greater satisfaction in the solution. But I think a mystery is compelling precisely because of the lack of answers and finality. It can’t be tidily wrapped up and mentally put away. A solved mystery is just one story. An unsolved mystery contains multitudes.

Hey, man, information wants to be free!

The driving school is closed on weekends.

Fully agree. The notion that the author’s identity is largely irrelevant to appreciating and understanding their art is literally decades old.

I totally agree with you. Journalism involves more than just publishing whatever comes across your desk (otherwise we could just mechanize the whole endeavor). It requires human judgment too and that’s inevitably colored by the individual journalist’s personal values and experiences.

I think it’d be more newsworthy if it were M. Night Shyamalan
