Exactly. People who are going into the minutuae of tax law and defending the legality of Trump’s tax strategy are missing the fucking forest. It doesn’t matter if this were legal or even if the loophole might be justifiable. This is extremely bad for Trump politically.

I’d make that more specific and say many religious people view sex as shameful and disgusting when women enjoy it. A lot of these people are basically pro-rape.

Excellent point!

And political scientists. This may be the best chance they have of having a natural experiment to test whether political advertising and get-out-the-vote efforts make a significant difference in presidential campaigns. Usually, both parties are about even with these things so it’s hard to tell how effective they are.

There are going to be so many books and because of the NDAs, they’ll be off-the-wall bonkers. I predict there’ll be a movie too.

I agree. Dean doesn’t seem like he’s interested in running for office anytime soon. And given the shockingly offensive things being said by Republicans on a near-daily basis, this one tweet is nothing.

Thank you for coming from the future to tell me my prediction came true.

That’s an amazing tweet.

You know they’re saving all the really juicy stuff for a stunning, tell-all book to be published next year. Right now, they’re shopping for lawyers who will help them break their NDAs.

Dean has been getting a lot of shit for that tweet. His mistake was to use his verified account to push the rumor about a political enemy instead of spreading the gossip via a friendly ‘news’ network, left-wing blogs, and an army of Russian trolls.

“Her ads are bullying me by quoting my exact words!”

I did a full-body cringe when she dropped, “Trumped-up trickle-down”. The speechwriter who came up with that tongue-twister needs to take a long walk and a good hard look at their life choices.

Even though the narrative is that Trump is a wild card, he is utterly predictable in certain ways. Clinton knew that if she let him ramble on long enough, he’d be bound to say something awful.  Especially after she triggered him with certain ideas or phrases. She played him like a piano.

The idea that the audience has to fill in the blanks to Trump’s word salad is from this piece by Mike Pesca. Vox also commented on how the format and lack of audience reaction threw Trump off his game.

Yeah, the other day I read an analysis of the debate that pointed out Trump did so badly because he was still operating in primary mode. Base Republicans can fill in the blanks to his garbled sentences and understand all the asides and references he sprinkles into his remarks, but they come across as non sequiturs to

Trying to get aggressive and dominant with Trump is how you lose, which is something Rubio, Bush, Christie and Cruz know all too well. He’s capable of shocking nastiness because he has no absolutely no conscience and a desperate psychological need to be the alpha.

According to testimony at the trial, Christie “laughed” when told about the bridge closure. Giuliani called Hillary an “idiot” for staying with Bill after the Lewinsky affair. Don King is literally a murderer. And Peter Thiel is basically Elizabeth Bathory.

Because 9/11. Honestly, that’s all Giuliani has got.

Yeah, I was just being cute. There’s no way in hell a 70-year-old man who has coasted all his life on his wealth and privilege will suddenly become a diligent student and actually prepare for the last two debates.

Very good point. I wonder if this year’s Trumpocalypse will force the RNC to make some changes in their nominating process. The clown car approach clearly isn’t working well for them.
