Al Giordano has been forcefully pointing out on Twitter than canvassing potential voters can undo a lot of the damage inflicted by the national media. People are more likely to be swayed by a neighbor’s case for Clinton (or against Trump) than a pundit’s.

Yeah, the elite political press are basically stenographers. What is the point of them if they’re simply going to parrot campaign talking points?

No, that was not Jimmy Fallon.

Yep, let’s blame a man’s bad behavior on a woman. Let’s blame the media’s institutional biases on a woman. Can we blame TD’s idiocy on Hillary too?.

What’s particularly annoying about the media’s apparent helplessness in the face of Trump’s lies and outrageous behavior is that he is FAR more dependent on their good graces than they are on his.

I want to respond to people who insist that we can’t criticize Fallon or his show because he’s not a journalist and his show is not a news program.

Read my comment again. Nowhere did I ‘lambast Fallon for being himself’. I lambasted him and his producers for agreeing to this interview, knowing what their show is and what Trump is.

I just read something on Esquire that made a good point:

I love when they have Krugman fill in for Brooks. It’s a sweet bonus.

It’s more about Fallon and his producers agreeing to help humanize Trump and make him seem like a warm, cuddly uncle than expecting Jimmy to conduct a hard-hitting interview.

I’m more mad at Fallon’s producers for booking Trump. Their short-term ratings bump is more important to them than the future of the country.

I’m reminded of Americans and Brits who, in the years prior to WWII, did their best to humanize Hitler and make him see like a charming fellow with some idiosyncratic political views.

Judging from the gossip pages, Fallon is more into booze. Like, a LOT more.

Fallon is a rich, straight white guy. He’d be fine under a Trump administration. Why should he care if Bencheetoh Mussolini is elected?

Nothing is really free. Beautiful people aren’t given money without the expectation that the giver will get something in return. Especially if it’s a lot of money.

I am reminded of those electoral maps from the past two presidential elections that showed what the results would have been if women and/or minorities and/or 18-year-olds weren’t allowed to vote. Solidly, overwhelmingly red in every scenario.

I don’t know about Thiel specifically, but it’s a near certainty that Trump will pack the highest echelons of government with cronies, loyal stooges, and corrupt assholes just like him. That’s simply what authoritarians, including Trump’s bestie Vlad, do when they assume power.

Never ask questions unless you’re sure you want to hear the answers.

Holy shit. I never realized just how stubby Trump’s fingers are. They’re like 2/3 the length of Bill’s. It’s like Trump is missing the final joints in his fingers.

I saw it on one of the anti-Trump subreddits. It’s my new favorite term for them.
