Grownups sprinkle chia seeds and goji berries over their fair-trade organic granola and wash it down with an almond milk and pea protein smoothie before hopping in their Tesla S to head to the tennis court.

Okay there, Senator McCarthy.

You eat half a pound of sesame seeds every day? What a beast!

Milk tastes good and is nutritious. This isn’t some sort of moral battle between chia seeds and milk. You can have both, and a whole lot of other things too. The ethics of industrialized dairy / meat is a whole different topic.

Not everyone wants to chow through a quarter-pound of chia seeds every day, dude. What’s your ‘beef’ with milk, eh?

By the way, I moved from Florida (~30 years) to Australia a little over a year ago. It is staggering just how much safer and civil things are here. The gun law is a big difference. People simply don’t worry about mass shootings, or really shootings in general. It’s just not a thing, except for rare instances between

You’re barking up the wrong tree. Facts and historical examples are not going to matter to the pro-Assault Weapons / anti-gun control crowd. They rely on anecdotes and delusion, not facts.

I’m fine with someone owning a deer rifle or a bird gun. I’m not fine with someone owning a GAU-8 Avenger minigun. There are all types of guns, and where we draw the line for civilian ownership is up for debate.

I’ll settle for an assault weapons / automatic handguns ban. It’s hard to murder 27 people with a 3-shell capacity bird gun or a bolt-action deer rifle. It’s easy to do when you have a semiautomatic gas-operated assault rifle with a bunch of spare magazines at the ready.

Most mass shootings end when the police respond with overwhelming force and/or the shooter reaches the end of the rope (out of ammo, injured, cornered, etc.). They don’t end when a ‘good’ civilian with a gun shows up.

Actually, it’s pretty much confirmed at this point that the neighbor hit Devin Kelley twice. I’m right there with you in saying that the ‘good guy with a gun’ myth is stupid, but Mark_the_Bold actually isn’t lying about the neighbor shooting him,

Without an ideological or political motive / goal, it’s not terrorism.

The neighbor could have shot a SWAT officer or another ‘good guy with a gun’ just as easily as hitting Devin Patrick Kelley. Generally speaking, civilians should not be going vigilante. Guns should only be used in matters of direct self-defense or the mitigation of a clear and immediate mortal threat.

Diversity training, and the overwhelming social backlash, are enough to satisfy me in this case. College kids are still kids in many regards. If they had racist parents / racist upbringing, they’re only partially to blame for acting like racist idiots.

Violent, corrupt, and culturally / sexually repressive tyranny? Sounds like an ideal ally for the States. The prince is jailing or whacking his political rivals and setting himself up nicely as a despot and I imagine the elite class in the USA are fantasizing about all the lucrative arms / petroleum contracts they’re

Uh, who goes around with a swastika on their shirt? Isn’t that asking to get your ass kicked and/or your reputation trashed?

How the good guy with a gun story is mostly an NRA myth and how our cops often use excessive force and are often racist. Clear enough now?

I haven’t seen it, but I believe you. Peeps be crazy.

Most people are flakes. If you have FB ‘friends’ who repeatedly flake, think about whether or not you really need them as ‘friends’. It’s nice having a high ‘friend’ count on social media sites, but when it comes down to it, these apps are about their usefulness for you. If superficial friend counts is what you’re

I dealt with years of leaves / clippings / other people’s dog turds on my lawn without breaking anyone’s ribs. I’m liberal as well, so there’s something else to this story.
